Like all water treatment systems, performing at maximum efficiency is paramount to the success of the system and to your bottom line. After reviewing all service reports from facility managers, maintenance personnel and Scale Free Systems service technicians the following results need to be addressed. For Scale Free Systems to perform at its best, save water and energy the following maintenance must be tackled.
Water Flow-Water flow is essential to allow the calcium deposits to detach from the tubes and fill of towers. Without proper flow the calcium deposits collect and, after a period of time, cause less heat transfer to occur. Power washing tubes is recommended at least once per year on routine maintenance and whenever needed.
Items to Check and Clean 1X per month
Items to Check and Clean 2X per month
Conductivity Controller-High conductivity will cause tower’s sump screen to clog up and allow calcium to collect which affects water flow. Controller should be checked on a 2 week schedule. Clean conductivity probe. Recheck with a calibrated hand-held meter. Test blow-down valve for proper operation.
