SFS BASIC CONTROLLER

SFS BASIC CONTROLLER
Specifications:
- Enclosure: The controller is housed in a gasket sealed, non-metallic, UL approved case and measures 9-1/4" W x 7-1/4" H x 5" D.
- Power Supply: The controller operates on 24 vac. A 115v / 24v step-down transformer with a 2 pin connector is supplied with the controller. A standard 115v receptacle within 6 ft. of the probe is required.
- Connections: Two screw type copper lug connectors are provided for the ground and probe connections to accept #6 wire.
- Graphics: A graphics overlay on the front of the controller identifies all control and display functions.
- Display and Indicators: A 3-1/2" digit, 7-segmented numerical, red LED display, 0.5" tall characters, displays probe output in millivolts. This will allow for a reading up to 1999 mv.
- Four Individual LED Status Indicators are provided as follows:
- Power - A green LED indicating that power is applied to the controller.
- Measuring Probe - A red LED indicating that the controller is measuring the probe millivolts.
- Data Valid - A red LED indicating that millivolt reading has been completed and that the displayed data is the latest available reading.
- Low, Check Probe - A red LED indicating that the millivolt output of the probe is low and the probe needs to be cleaned.
Operation:
When power is supplied to the controller, the POWER LED indicator will light and the MEASURING PROBE indicator will light. The digital display will track and display the probe output in millivolts. After two minutes, the MEASURING PROBE LED will turn off and the DATA VALID LED will display the last probe millivolt output. The DATA VALID displays the last probe reading for 60 minutes. After 60 minutes has elapsed, the DATA VALID LED indicator will turn off, and the MEASURING PROBE LED will turn on. At the end of the two minute measure interval, the DATA VALID LED will light and display the new probe output.
A manual push-button switch labeled READ is provided. Pressing READ will force the controller to go through a measurement and display cycle identical to that which is performed when power is initially supplied to the controller. Pressing the READ switch will reset the timer and force the controller to measure the PROBE output and display the final measurement when the DATA VALID LED indicator is on. That reading will be on display until the next measurement cycle of 60 minutes has elapsed.
The scale prevention mode is interrupted during the two minute MEASURE PROBE cycle. During this brief interval the Scale Free circuitry is temporarily opened and de-energized. While these brief interruptions will not reduce the overall results, other system tests and measurements should not be performed and would not be meaningful.

Display Indicator and Controls for Biocide Function:
A 3-1/2" digit red LED display, 0.5" tall, shows biocide milliamps. This display will be blanked while current is not being supplied to the biocide electrodes and will indicate current in milliamps when the current is being supplied to the biocide electrodes.
A two digit red LED shows cycle minutes. This display counts down minutes remaining until the next biocide interval.
A two digit red LED shows biocide minutes. This display indicates the time in minutes for which the biocide current is to be supplied to the electrodes. Biocide time will be adjusted automatically as the electrodes wear.
The biocide time can be adjusted manually with the two arrow push button switches located to the right of the biocide display. The up arrow will increase the time and the other will decrease the time in minutes. The arrow switches are only enabled when the ADJUST MINUTES switch is depressed while simultaneously depressing the arrow switch. The controller will automatically reset and adjust the biocide minutes display to compensate for electrode wear and conductivity changes.
SFS ADVANCED CONTROLLER WITH BIOCIDE AND CONDUCTIVITY
Specifications:
- Enclosure: The controller is housed in a gasket sealed, non-metallic, UL approved case and measures 10" W x 8" H x 6" D.
- Power Supply: 115v, 1 Ph, 60 Hz.
- Connections: A four circuit CPC style connector is provided for the biocide electrodes. A nine circuit CPC style connector is provided for the conductivity probe. This connector also provides connections for the temperature sensor which is part of the conductivity probe. A four circuit CPC style is provided to connect an external device to the internal relay that can be operated by the conductivity circuit. This connector is arranged so that it is not interchangeable with the biocide probe connector. The described connectors are mounted on the bottom of the controller and are identified by individual labels. A graphics overlay on the front of the controller clearly identifies all control and display functions.

Display Indicator and Controls for Conductivity Function:
The conductivity module is equipped to activate a relay when the conductance of the measured fluid exceeds a present level. This level can be adjusted up or down with the two push-button position switches located to the right of the conductivity display. One switch will increase the set point as displayed on the conductivity LED. These two switches will only be enabled when the controller is in the set up mode which is enabled by holding the set-up switch depressed. A yellow LED indicator will light to indicate that the controller is in setup mode.
When the conductivity rises above the present level, an internal relay will be energized. The relay will remain energized until the conductivity has decreased by a value that is factory preset. While the relay is energized, a red LED in the conductivity module will be lit. This relay can also be activated by depressing the manual switch.
